Ifti Ahmad


Assistant Solicitor

Ifti joined TPP Law in December 2008 as an assistant solicitor and has experience of the health and social care sectors. He has advised on commercial contracts and partnering agreements, corporate structures for social enterprises, including in relation to the Right to Request, as well as governance documents and regulatory requirements.

Ifti has recently joined the Department of Health on part-time secondment and will be providing legal support to the System Management and New Enterprise Division within the Commissioning and System Management Directorate. He is primarily advising on current and future policy particularly around competition and procurement, including the revision of the Principles and Rules on Co-operation and Competition and the updating of the NHS PCT Procurement Guide, as well as social enterprise. Beyond this, Ifti will be advising on constitutional, public law and governance and regulatory issues generally and providing broad support to the Division, including working with other parts of the Directorate, where appropriate.

Before joining the team, Ifti trained at Beachcroft LLP. During his time there, he gained significant experience of working for NHS Trusts, Universities and public sector organisations as well as large private sector companies.

Prior to this, Ifti also worked for the Office of the Solicitor, Commercial Division at the Department for Work and Pensions, as well as Apple Computer (UK) Limited undertaking general commercial legal work including reviewing contracts, intellectual property, employment and competition law.
