The Work

The work is challenging but rewarding. Responsibilities will include dealing with all aspects of public service contracts and partnerships, including:

  • preparing and negotiating commercial, development and funding contracts
  • structuring and negotiation of risk allocation
  • compliance with EU procurement and competitive tendering provisions in the context of major projects
  • employment issues, including TUPE and pensions obligations
  • corporate governance issues
  • liaison with relevant private finance units/public bodies
  • creation of companies, trusts and other corporate bodies
  • training and capacity-building for organisations involved in public service contracting
We are looking for lawyers who:

  • can demonstrate a keen interest and enthusiasm to learn about our clients' business
  • are good at fostering relationships with clients
  • can work in teams, motivating and coaching their juniors and contributing to overall success
  • be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take forward projects on own initiative, conscious of deadlines
  • are reliable and responsive
  • are commercial and innovative in the solutions they deliver to clients

You will have strong academics and ideally some experience of public law and commercial contracts, projects work, or perhaps commercial property in the context of major development projects. You will be a team player, intellectually curious, and a good communicator with a commercial appraoch.
