Lambeth BSF - Road Testing the New D&B
Contract
We successfully completed two further BSF projects for the London Borough
of Lambeth under wave 2 of the Building Schools for the Future Project. This involves
the £50m capital value procurement of two new secondary school facilities in Lambeth.
We led in advising and negotiating the contractual terms of the two design and build
contracts, interface agreements, deeds of appointments and warranties. Both contracts
were the very first time that the PfS standard Design and Build Contract was used
under the BSF programme.
The Stockwell Park High School will be built by Willmott Dixon and will be ready
for occupation on 1 September 2010. The Elmgreen School will be built by Alfred
McAlpine and is due to be completed on 1 September 2009. The Elmgreen School is
the very first Parent Promoter School in the UK and has received national acclaim
as a model of ‘best practice’. |
